Introducing the second judge from the “Theatre in Advance” jury – Gergana Dimitrova

Gergana Dimitrova

 

She graduates from Sofia University “Kl. Ohridski” with Cultural Studies , as well as from the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts, Berlin and NATFIZ with Direction. Since 2006 she works freelance in Bulgaria and Germany. Translates from German mainly contemporary dramaturgy and is also the author of a few theatre articles for German and Bulgarian issues, a few dramatizations and two plays. She is the founder and president of OCAAC “36 monkeys” and co-founder and active participant in ACT – Association for free theatre. She takes part in numerous  national and international forums, seminars and festivals and has two IKAR 2012 awards – for dramaturgy(together with Zdrava Kamenova) and for direction of the play “Praheidno”, production of “36 monkeys”. Her work so far is mainly focused on contemporary dramaturgy and the new theatrical forms. She is interested in the dialogue between theatre and science, as well as in interdisciplinary approach in theatre and in cultural politics in the sphere of independent performance arts. She loves drinking cold beer in the evening, sleeping in open-air, travelling and eating salad and home-made liutenica.

From October 30th to November 15th 2013 you can watch and take part in the new interactive play by Gergana Dimitrova – The Time of Quarks exactly ten times. The theatrical action takes place at what used to be the building of “Macedonia” cinema.

We would like to remind you that the competition programme of “Theatre in Advance” festival will be held on November 10th 2013 (Sunday) at the main hall of “Slavyanska Beseda” community center. It starts at 13.00, the entry is 2/5 lv. The profit from ticket sales will be donated to the Home for theatre actors – veterans.
