Second edition of the school festival “Theatre in Advance” (9.11 – 10.11.2013, Sofia)
The Festival
On the 9th and 10th of November the association “Creative Box” will realize the second issue of the school festival “Theatre in Advance” with the financial support of Sofia programme “Culture”. The event will take place in the “Vlaykova” and “Slavyanska beseda” halls and will include workshops and competition program.
The theatre
Once you have been on stage, you could never be a part of the audience again. They say the actor is the person behind the mask. Nonsense. The actor is the person with a face – the one who wholeheartedly takes responsibility for the always personal relationship with the spotlights.
The advance
Stage is for people who are priceless. The advance we give you is the opportunity to be seen and talked about. The advance we receive is the opportunity to see you and talk about you. The advance represents the forthcoming in art. For the artist, art is always forthcoming.
The program
9.11.2013 (Saturday) – “Vlaykova” cinema, workshops, start time: 14:00
The workshops are on the topic “The theatre and the body” and are aimed at forming a wide range of cultural meanings, based on Postmodernism and Derrida’s theory of overcoming the logos. Among the workshop tutors are Iva Sveshtarova and Villy Prager – founders of the movement for contemporary dance and performance “Antistatic”. The topic they chose for their workshop is “Intersecting points between body, space and fantasy”. Actor Juliyan Petrov will also share his experience with the students. His workshop it entitles “The juxtaposition of the body within the parameters of Shakespeare’s text”.
10.11.2013 (Sunday) – community centre „Slavyanska Beseda“, competition programme, start time: 13:30
The participants are Sofia student theatre formations. Distinct place in the jury have the director Martin Vangelov (“Four rooms”, “There is such play”) and Gergana Dimitrova (“Praheidno”, “The Time of Quarks”).

The event supports the candidature of Sofia and the Southwest region for European Capital of Culture 2019.
